| We are a fleet from the southwest section of Ohio. We have been running ULSD for several months now and the one costly occurrence has to do with Davco Fuel/Water Separators. Several times we have had trucks shut down, upon inspection we find the O-ring that separates the fuel from the coolant is deteriated causing the fuel system to lose its prime. We run extended life coolant so the jury is still out as to which liquid is actually causing the O-ring to deteriate. Five months ago when my shop manager told me the Davco rep was sending out hundreds of O-ring kits I said then they either suspect the fuel is going to be an issue or the coolant is not compatible with the oring material. It's prompted me to look at a fuel/water separator with no orings between the fuel and coolant. Last edited on Sun Feb 18th, 2007 08:10 am by m2rdick
