Volvo Trucks North America said Monday it is now offering Bendix heavy-duty air
disc brakes on Volvo VN and VT model trucks.
Disc brakes can improve braking capacity and performance in demanding conditions, contributing to
safer travel, Volvo said.
The Bendix ADB22X air disc brake delivers reduced brake fade on long downhills, improved brake
component life and reduced maintenance, while being less sensitive to adjustment than traditional S-cam drum brakes, Volvo said.
The truck maker is offering the disc brakes on front and rear axles on
Volvo VNs and VTs with front axle ratings from 12,000 to 13,200 pounds and 40,000-pound rear axle ratings. The disc brakes can also be ordered for front axle only, Volvo
said.
